Flights

  • Most people will want to fly into EDI
  • Most major airlines fly to Edinburgh
  • We have direct connects to major US and European hubs: All London airports, AMS, Frankfurt, Newark on the US east coast…
  • From airport to Edinburgh is an easy 20" ride to the city: £6 return bus fare, or £20 Taxi each way. The airport bus is fine, and leaves every 10 minutes or so whenever flights are running.

Train

  • The EastCoast train service from London Kings Cross runs every half hour, and takes about 4 hours. It's comfortable, has wireless, and lovely view of the English and Scottish Eastern coastline.
    • Book a train here book early for tickets at around £25 each way, or last minute for about £120 return from London.
  • If you arrive late, there's also the Caledonian Sleeper: an over-night train which tootles up from London Euston, leaving at 11pm and getting in around 7am. Same base price with a supplement for a bed.

Edinburgh itself is very compact and easy and safe to get around on foot. There's a great bus service (£1.30). Black Cabs are easy to get: most city trips are around £5-10.
